Principal Engineer – Mobile

About the role

LMG is looking for a Principal Engineer – Mobile to lead the design, development and maintenance of mobile and tablet applications that support its extensive financial services platform across Australia and New Zealand. This Melbourne‑based position sits within a fast‑moving, agile team that delivers large‑scale, complex systems for mortgages, asset finance, insurance and financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Guide technical decisions across all mobile and adaptive web products.
• Lead by example and mentor both local and remote developers, fostering a positive development culture.
• Design and build SaaS‑style, mobile‑friendly software modules for franchisees, customers and third‑party integrations.
• Refine live applications using performance metrics and customer feedback.
• Validate new product concepts through rapid prototyping.
• Act as a hands‑on team lead for production operations, cloud infrastructure, and technical support.
• Ensure overall quality, stability and performance of mobile solutions.

Required profile

• Proven technical leadership experience in mobile engineering.
• Hands‑on development expertise with a focus on high‑quality, scalable code.
• Ability to mentor and guide teams across multiple locations.
• Strong analytical mindset to translate performance data into product improvements.
• Experience working in regulated financial services environments is a plus.
