Principal Data Analyst

About the role

Brisbane City Council's City Strategy and Policy branch is recruiting a Principal Data Analyst (Band 7, permanent full-time, Brisbane Square). The role delivers analytical projects that give dynamic insights and visualisations supporting Council policy and decision-making, and provides leadership and technical advice to stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualise, manage and deliver insights by collecting, analysing and presenting data from multiple sources
• Lead data mining and modelling, and gather intelligence and run statistical analysis to establish trends and benchmarks
• Provide leadership and technical advice to stakeholders across Council

Required profile

• Extensive experience using data analytics and visualisation tools
• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects that give high-level insights for business, operational and policy decisions
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, advocacy and communication skills
• Ability to lead and mentor staff and work with stakeholders on sensitive and confidential content
• Contribution to team direction and a continual improvement mindset
