Primary Health Registered Nurse

About the role

Provide high‑quality, person‑centred nursing care to people in detention as part of Healthcare Australia’s Primary Health Services team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments, care planning and chronic disease management.
• Deliver evidence‑based primary healthcare including medication administration, vaccinations, wound care and blood collection.
• Provide health promotion, education and support to improve patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and coordinate access to medical, AOD and allied health services.
• Maintain high‑quality clinical documentation and follow clinical guidelines.

Required profile

• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, recent hands‑on experience in an operational healthcare setting.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to adapt in a changing environment.
