Primary Engineer – High Voltage Infrastructure

About the role

CPP is seeking a Primary Engineer to join its Adelaide head office and support the delivery of high‑voltage substation projects across Australia. You will be responsible for producing detailed primary electrical designs from concept through construction support, contributing to the nation’s renewable energy transition.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver primary electrical designs for HV substations, transmission lines, wind farms and battery storage systems.
• Perform system studies including load flow, short‑circuit, arc‑flash and low‑voltage protection coordination.
• Design earthing systems, EMF and LFI solutions, and conduct insulation coordination studies.
• Size high‑voltage cables, conductors and busbars, and calculate short‑circuit forces.
• Provide lightning protection, lighting studies, and substation equipment layout designs.
• Prepare high‑voltage equipment specifications and support construction teams with design clarification.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience producing detailed engineering studies in at least one of the listed areas.
• Ability to work collaboratively with construction and operations teams.
• Willingness to relocate to Adelaide (relocation assistance available).
