PR Manager

About the role

Join the team behind Australia’s largest marathon and help shape the story of a fast‑growing global sporting event. Reporting to the Head of PR, you will manage media relations, talent coordination and event‑week PR logistics from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Pitch proactive stories across sport, news, lifestyle and running media.
• Manage daily Meltwater monitoring and turn data into actionable insights.
• Draft releases, alerts, Q&As and briefing notes in line with brand standards.
• Pitch, brief and coordinate athletes and coaches, managing contracted deliverables.
• Oversee media accreditation, press conferences, Media Centre setup and event‑week PR logistics.
• Execute partner PR entitlements and charity tier servicing.
• Collaborate with the social team to align earned and owned channels.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of PR, media or communications experience, preferably in sport, events or lifestyle.
• Strong writer able to deliver clean copy under deadline.
• Established Australian media contacts and confident relationship‑building skills.
• Hands‑on experience with Meltwater for searches, dashboards and reporting.
• Experience coordinating talent and managing event PR operations.
• Highly organized, calm under pressure and proactive.
