PR & Communications Manager

About the role

Salter Brothers Hospitality, one of Australia's leading luxury hospitality groups with 19 retreat hotels and estates and more than 29 restaurants and bars, is looking for a PR and Communications Manager. Reporting to the Senior Group Director of Marketing, the role leads public relations, media relations and communications across the group's portfolio, driving brand awareness, earned media, stakeholder engagement and reputation management. It is a Brisbane-based position with hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the PR and communications strategy across the portfolio
• Build relationships with media, journalists, editors, influencers and industry stakeholders
• Develop media releases, communications materials, key messaging and executive profiles
• Pitch proactively to travel, hospitality, lifestyle, food, business and trade media
• Manage media enquiries, interviews, press trips, familiarisations and media events
• Support new hotel openings, launches, campaigns, partnerships and major announcements
• Monitor media coverage and report on PR performance and earned media outcomes
• Support internal communications and guide reputation, issues and crisis communications
• Manage PR calendars, agency relationships and media databases
• Partner with hotel, restaurant, operations, commercial and marketing teams

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years' experience in public relations or communications; hotel, hospitality, tourism, luxury or lifestyle experience highly regarded
• Tertiary qualification in PR, communications, marketing or a related discipline
• Proven track record of PR strategy and media coverage
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders and projects in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for hospitality, travel, food and lifestyle brands
