Plumber - FIFO Remote Village & Mine Site (2:2 Roster)

About the role

Sodexo is looking for experienced plumbers to join its Facilities Management team on remote village and mine-site operations in Queensland, on a 2:2 FIFO roster (14 days on, 14 days off). You will carry out preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections and installations across plumbing, water and wastewater infrastructure to keep village facilities safe and reliable. The role is physically demanding, with up to 12-hour shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on plumbing, water and wastewater systems
• Complete repairs, fault-finding and installations according to work orders and safety procedures
• Maintain village infrastructure such as accommodation, kitchens, laundries, ablution blocks and recreational facilities
• Maintain water treatment, wastewater and associated infrastructure where required
• Keep accurate maintenance records, inspection logs and compliance documentation
• Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, pre-start meetings and adherence to OHS policies

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years' experience in plumbing service and maintenance
• Previous experience in facilities management, remote villages, mining, commercial or industrial environments
• Local to the job location or willing to relocate at own expense
• Must pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening, and a National Police check if not held within the last 6 months
• Physically fit, able to travel safely and work long shifts in remote, extreme weather conditions

Required skills

• Current Australian driver's licence, White Card and current Plumber's Licence
• Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (NWP30222)
• Desirable: pool operations qualification and gas fitting licence
• Knowledge of OHS regulations, safety standards and safe systems of work
• Customer service and teamwork skills
