Platform Engineer

About the role

PropertyIQ, part of Macquarie, is looking for a Platform Engineer to own the engineering foundations that every other development team builds on: how services are deployed and operated, how problems are detected and responded to, and the tooling that makes everything repeatable. The role stands up and automates environments end-to-end, builds the automation that drives platform evolution, and owns the frameworks that keep every release trustworthy.

Required profile

• Strong hands-on experience managing and scaling cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and orchestrating containerized workloads with Kubernetes (GKE)
• Proven ability to design, build and maintain automation for setting up GCP and Kubernetes environments end-to-end, reducing manual toil
• Experience building and hardening secure, automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD) for rapid, reliable deployments of containerized services
• Practical experience building monitoring, alerting and logging into GCP/Kubernetes environments from the ground up, leading incident response and improving operational maturity
• Experience designing automated tooling for system and data migrations to modern containerized platforms
• Background integrating core systems such as API gateways, service meshes, event-driven architectures and messaging queues
• Comfort working in an AI-assisted engineering environment using tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot
• Ability to solve ambiguous, multi-system problems through systematic, cross-functional collaboration
