Platform Engineer

About the role

Leidos Australia is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build and support secure, reliable and scalable cloud and hybrid platforms that enable teams to deliver business‑critical applications efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain cloud and hybrid platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) providing a resilient foundation for services.
• Automate infrastructure and application delivery using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, scripting and deployment tooling.
• Enhance platform reliability, performance and security through monitoring, observability, vulnerability remediation and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, cybersecurity specialists and business stakeholders to improve platform capabilities and simplify deployments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in platform engineering, DevOps or related infrastructure roles.
• Hands‑on experience with public cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Australian citizenship and NV‑1 security clearance.

Required skills

• Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
• CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
• Scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Monitoring and observability tools (Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Datadog).
• Version control (Git) and security fundamentals (IAM, secrets management).
