Plant Operator B – Roads and Drainage Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a Plant Operator to join our Roads and Drainage Maintenance team. You will operate graders and other civil construction plant safely and efficiently to maintain unsealed roads, drainage networks and related infrastructure for the community.

Key responsibilities

• Operate graders and civil construction plant to grade, shape and maintain unsealed roads, drainage networks and road shoulders.
• Complete vehicle inspections and basic maintenance to keep equipment safe and operational.
• Contribute to the delivery of roads and drainage maintenance operations.
• Champion workplace safety by following procedures, reporting hazards and promoting safe work practices.

Required profile

• Current HR Class Driver’s licence.
• Ability to work effectively within a team to achieve operational targets.
• Safety‑first approach and alignment with council values of safety, wellbeing, communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership.

Required skills

• Operation of graders and other civil construction plant.
• Vehicle inspection and basic equipment maintenance.
