Pig Farm Assistant – Nursery & Finishing

About the role

Fenor Farms is looking for two dedicated Pig Farm Assistants to support daily operations in the Nursery & Finishing sections. You will ensure pigs receive proper care, feed, and water while maintaining high standards of animal welfare and production efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily tasks in the Nursery & Finishing sections, including feeding, watering, and health monitoring.
• Assist with weekly pig movements, selection, and loading of market pigs and replacement gilts.
• Maintain room environments, sanitation, and hygiene; dispose of deceased animals appropriately.
• Update and keep accurate records in MetaFarms, worksheets, and door charts.
• Support the Farrowing & Lactation section on weaning days and assist with room preparation and cleaning.
• Carry out basic equipment checks, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and follow all health, safety, and biosecurity policies.

Required profile

• Intermediate English reading, writing, and conversational skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends on a rotational roster.
• Basic technology proficiency for data entry on smartphones or tablets.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks, lift up to 20 kg, and climb gates up to 1 m.
• Self‑motivated, dependable, and committed to animal welfare.
