Trainee Soil Technician – Lab & Field Testing

About the role

This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in soil testing both in the laboratory and on field sites. You will support senior staff while learning to apply Australian and Main Roads standards in a safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory and field soil tests in line with Australian and Main Roads standards.
• Enter test data and perform calculations to produce accurate results.
• Perform daily equipment checks and maintain calibration records.
• Follow licensing requirements at state and federal levels.
• Adhere to the company’s HR policy manual and OH&S procedures.
• Comply with the Laboratory Quality & Procedures Manual.
• Maintain punctuality and follow directions from senior staff.

Required profile

• Willingness to obtain a White Card (Construction Card) if not already held.
• Current manual driver’s licence.
• Respectful and helpful attitude towards clients.
• Commitment to work safely and follow company policies.
