Plant Operator – Parks & Gardens

About the role

The Plant Operator – Parks & Gardens role is responsible for keeping Griffith’s public gardens and lawns looking tidy and well‑maintained while safely operating plant equipment required for routine maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a neat and high standard of appearance for gardens, lawns and park areas.
• Perform gardening labour tasks as needed, including planting, mulching and basic horticultural work.
• Operate, service and regularly maintain plant items such as mowers, tractors and other equipment.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with council policies.

Required profile

• Current Australian MR driver licence.
• General Construction Induction Training certificate (GIT/white card).
• Ability to work safely with plant machinery and follow maintenance schedules.

Required skills

• Operation of plant equipment.
• Basic gardening labour.
