Pharmacy Business Manager

About the role

The Pharmacy Business Manager will partner with Independent Pharmacies Australia member pharmacies across Victoria and Western Australia, driving commercial performance, operational excellence, and sustainable growth. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will coach pharmacy owners and teams, delivering strategic guidance and practical solutions to maximise community impact.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with member pharmacies to improve profitability, customer experience and operational efficiency through tailored business coaching and strategic advice.
• Build strong relationships with pharmacy owners and teams, maximising the value of IPA programmes, services and brand initiatives.
• Monitor business performance across the territory, using market insights and KPIs to identify opportunities and implement action plans.
• Ensure compliance with IPA programmes, industry standards and regulatory requirements through regular pharmacy visits and documentation.
• Collaborate with internal IPA stakeholders to implement projects, share best practice and act as a positive ambassador for the business.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in retail pharmacy, pharmacy operations or business development/account management.
• Strong business acumen with proven problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities, able to influence and coach pharmacy owners and teams.
• Proactive, customer‑focused approach with the ability to work independently and contribute to a high‑performing team.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
