Pharmacist Team Leader – Formulary & Procurement

About the role

Monash Health is seeking a Pharmacist Team Leader to oversee formulary and procurement across its network. This 12‑month fixed‑term position reports to the Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy and works closely with pharmacy leadership and clinical teams to ensure safe, equitable and cost‑effective medication use.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the management and governance of the Monash Health Medication Formulary, including Single Patient Use, Medicines Access Programs, Special Access Scheme applications and shortage management.
• Ensure medication use aligns with evidence‑based practice, safety standards, equity of access and financial sustainability.
• Support clinical teams to comply with formulary and governance processes.
• Drive procurement initiatives in line with the Pharmacy Procurement Plan and HealthShare Victoria contracts.
• Maintain effective stock control to support financial performance and service delivery.
• Collaborate with Quality Use of Medicines and Pharmacy Leadership teams to optimise medicine selection and use.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and professional development to pharmacy staff.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with extensive experience in a hospital setting.
• Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning abilities.
• Strong knowledge of formulary management, medicines access programs and procurement processes.
• Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders across a large health network.
