Personal Care Assistant

About the role

Mercy Health is looking for a Personal Care Assistant for its Mercy Place facility in Yarrawonga, Victoria. This is a casual position with a friendly, passionate team, offering a role that gives much work satisfaction through quality, client-focused care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality, client-focused care to patients, their families and carers using a holistic approach
• Assess and monitor patients' physical and emotional state
• Support end-of-life care with dignity, comfort and respect for personal wishes
• Follow the aged care code of conduct
• Take part in continuous improvement, including feedback, training and adapting care practices
• Document and communicate care information accurately within the organisation and to external providers
• Work in a multi-disciplinary team, providing responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers

Required profile

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support
• In the process of obtaining, or able to provide evidence of:
• A current police check
• Proof of current influenza vaccination
• Valid work rights

Required skills

• Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve
• Compassionate, flexible and positive approach to patient care and management
• Ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team
