Personal Care Assistant - Afternoon or Night Shifts

About the role

Lions Haven, a not-for-profit 121-bed residential aged care facility in Hope Island on the Gold Coast, is looking for Personal Care Assistants. The position is part-time and open to candidates who prefer afternoon shifts starting at 2pm or night shifts starting at 10pm. There are 15 roles available.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day quality care to residents under the general supervision of registered staff.
• Assist in keeping the home and its environment safe, clean and orderly.
• Respect each resident's individual needs, values, spiritual and cultural preferences when providing care.
• Maintain confidentiality about information obtained in the workplace and follow relevant laws and regulations.
• Work in a team and independently, with a positive attitude, punctuality and reliability.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in the well-being of the elderly.
• Reliable, practical and committed to a safe, high standard of practice.
• Minimum Certificate 3 in Aged Care.
• National police check.
• Current COVID-19 vaccination including booster, and 2022 influenza vaccination.
• Desirable: experience in the health or aged care sector.
