Perioperative Registered Nurse - Specialist Day Hospital

About the role

Virtus Specialist Day Hospitals, part of Virtus Health, is seeking experienced Perioperative Registered Nurses to join its team at Spring Hill Specialist Day Hospital in Brisbane. Working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and fellow nurses, you will help deliver safe, high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative journey and contribute to positive patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Work across admissions and pre-admissions, anaesthetics, scrub/scout and recovery (PACU)
• Contribute to positive patient outcomes and an exceptional patient experience
• Work in a supportive, collaborative team with surgeons and anaesthetists

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Experience in perioperative nursing, including theatre, anaesthetics and/or recovery
• Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of ACORN, NSQHS and infection prevention principles
• Commitment to ongoing learning; postgraduate perioperative qualifications are highly regarded but not essential
