People and Culture Officer

About the role

The People and Culture Officer will join a fast‑paced national organisation with a large operational workforce. Based in Richlands, Brisbane, you will support a predominantly blue‑collar team, gaining exposure to employee relations, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR support across the employee lifecycle – onboarding, off‑boarding, workforce administration and employee enquiries.
• Partner with operational leaders to advise on people matters, workforce processes and HR best practice.
• Maintain accurate employee records, prepare workforce reports and use HR data to identify trends.
• Support employee‑relations and case‑management processes, including investigations, performance matters and policy interpretation.
• Assist with engagement, recognition and retention initiatives to foster a positive workplace.
• Collaborate closely with the broader People & Culture team in an operationally focused environment.

Required profile

• Proactive, detail‑oriented HR Officer or Coordinator seeking to develop advisory‑level capabilities.
• Experience in a fast‑paced, complex environment supporting an operational or frontline workforce.
• Exposure to employee‑relations processes such as enquiries, investigations and performance documentation.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Curious, solutions‑focused mindset with high initiative and accountability.
