Part-Time Sales & Purchasing Officer

About the role

A privately owned Western Australian company supplying, hiring, selling, designing, manufacturing, maintaining and repairing heavy mobile equipment for mining, earthmoving, civil and construction clients is looking for an organised, proactive part-time Sales & Purchasing Officer. The role coordinates parts sales, purchasing and procurement so that parts are identified accurately, priced competitively and delivered on time, supporting workshop operations and external customers. It works closely with the Parts Interpreter, Maintenance Manager and Workshop Supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer parts enquiries by phone, email and online portals.
• Identify, source and obtain competitive pricing for parts and components.
• Prepare quotations, process invoices and coordinate parts dispatch.
• Process purchase orders, manage supplier orders and deliveries, and follow up on delayed deliveries.
• Coordinate daily with workshop and maintenance staff to prioritise urgent requirements.
• Support the Parts Interpreter with parts identification and sourcing.
• Process internal workshop purchase orders through Insphire.
• Maintain SDS registers and review expediting reports.
• Build supplier relationships, monitor supplier pricing and comply with purchasing, safety and procurement procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a trade, parts, warehouse or purchasing environment.
• Experience in parts identification, purchasing and supplier coordination.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, good organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work within a team.
• Desirable: HR driver's licence, forklift licence, experience with Insphire or similar systems.

Required skills

• Confident use of computer systems and electronic databases.
• Parts identification and purchasing.

What we offer

• Pay of 80-85k full time plus superannuation.
• Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm.
