Part-time Pastry Commis Chef

About the role

Join Pullman & Mercure Melbourne Albert Park as a part‑time Pastry Commis Chef. You will support the Executive Chef in delivering high‑quality pastry items across breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, banqueting and buffet services, ensuring memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and production for all service periods, including special requests.
• Maintain clean, hygienic, and organised work environments in line with HACCP standards.
• Perform tasks promptly to achieve high guest satisfaction.
• Collaborate on stock rotation and control to reduce waste and uphold hygiene.
• Liaise with kitchen teams on delayed meals or special orders.

Required profile

• Can‑do attitude with strong teamwork skills.
• Creative mindset and desire to learn.
• Experience in a fast‑paced kitchen or banqueting environment.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Australian working rights (no sponsorship).

Required skills

• Food Safety Certificate (essential).
• Knowledge of HACCP standards.
• Ability to follow stock rotation and control processes.
