Part-Time Medical Receptionist

About the role

Cairns Central Medical Centre is looking for a friendly, motivated and highly organised part-time Medical Receptionist to join its patient-focused team. The role offers up to 30 hours per week and suits someone who enjoys excellent customer service and a warm welcome for every patient. As the first point of contact, you will help run the practice smoothly and work closely with the team at the adjoining TerryWhite Chemmart Cairns Central.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and provide front-desk service
• Manage phone enquiries, appointment bookings and patient check-ins
• Maintain accurate patient records and handle billing and Medicare processes
• Assist doctors, nurses and practice staff with administrative support
• Help keep the practice clean, organised and welcoming

Required profile

• Experience in a medical or customer service environment
• Confident communicator with good people skills
• Able to multitask accurately in a busy environment
• Reliable, proactive and eager to learn
• Right to live and work in Australia

Required skills

• Experience with Best Practice software
• Computer competency and willingness to use medical software
