Part-Time Mathematics Teacher - Term 1 2027

About the role

Freshwater Christian College is seeking a qualified Secondary Mathematics Teacher for a part-time, fixed-term contract of three days per week during Term 1, 2027, to cover a staff member on approved leave. The college describes itself as a faith-filled community where academic rigour meets pastoral care.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned mathematics lessons across secondary year levels, three days per week
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with the Australian Curriculum
• Integrate a Christian worldview and biblical values into curriculum planning and classroom culture
• Support students' pastoral care and wellbeing
• Contribute to co-curricular life through school events and activities
• Collaborate with a team of educators committed to whole-person education

Required profile

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in teaching
• Queensland College of Teachers registration, or the ability to obtain it
• Full alignment with the Christian values and beliefs of the college, including affirmation of its Statement of Faith
• Willingness to comply with college policies, codes of conduct and training requirements, including work health and safety, risk management, child protection and confidentiality
• Able to work with all members of the college community
• Willingness to assist in extracurricular activities after normal working hours
• Legally permitted to work in Australia
• Willing to undergo a thorough screening process
