Part-Time Handyperson

About the role

Batman's Hill on Collins, a 4-star Accor hotel in Melbourne's CBD opposite Southern Cross Station, is looking for a part-time Handyperson to join its Maintenance team. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will help keep the hotel running smoothly so guests and staff have a safe, functional and welcoming environment. You will work independently for much of your shift while staying connected with operational teams.

Key responsibilities

• Complete general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel
• Carry out daily plant and equipment inspections and report faults
• Respond to maintenance requests in guest rooms and public areas
• Prioritise tasks and attend to urgent maintenance issues promptly
• Maintain accurate records of completed and outstanding maintenance work
• Keep tools, equipment and workshop areas safe and professional
• Work with operational departments to minimise disruption to guests
• Follow all WHS, environmental and hotel compliance requirements

Required profile

• Previous experience in general building maintenance, facilities maintenance or a similar hands-on role
• Experience in hospitality, accommodation or a customer-focused environment is highly regarded
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities without constant supervision
• Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to guest service
• Proactive approach, strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
