Part-Time Food and Beverage Attendant

About the role

Novotel Melbourne South Wharf, a four-star Accor hotel with 347 rooms, Mr. Carpano Dining and Bar and Allora Café, is hiring a part-time Food and Beverage Attendant. You will be the face of the dining venues, delivering friendly, professional service to guests across the restaurant, bar, café and event operations, mainly during dinner service (shifts between 2pm and 11pm). Pay is $27.08 per hour plus applicable weekend and public holiday penalty rates.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and attend to their dining needs
• Take orders accurately, make recommendations and ensure timely delivery of food and beverages with attention to quality and presentation
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including clearing and resetting tables
• Work with the team to handle guest requests and resolve issues professionally
• Follow hygiene and safety standards, including food safety and allergen requirements
• Assist with event setups and functions in the restaurant
• Deliver in-room dining orders

Required profile

• Current working rights in Australia; student visa holders are welcome to apply
• Availability and flexibility for evening shifts, possibly early mornings from 5:30 am, late evenings up to 11pm, weekends and public holidays; availability should be stated in the application
• Ability to pick up shifts at short notice is an advantage
• Experience in restaurant and bar service is preferred

Required skills

• Good communication skills, presentation and confidence with guests
• Interest in food and beverage and in the local Melbourne area
• Teamwork ability
• Espresso coffee making and bartending experience is highly regarded
• Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate or willingness to obtain one
