Part-Time Commis Chef

About the role

Batman's Hill on Collins, a 4-star Accor hotel in Melbourne's CBD opposite Southern Cross Station, is looking for a part-time Commis Chef to support kitchen operations across breakfast, lunch and dinner services, as well as conferences and events. The role requires at least 20 hours per week and flexibility to work varied shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, functions and buffet service
• Make sure all food is produced according to kitchen recipes and standards
• Assist and communicate with the chef on duty as required
• Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment with high-quality presentation
• Follow stock rotation and stock control procedures to minimise waste
• Keep working areas clean and tidy, and maintain, service and clean equipment
• Collaborate effectively with front-of-house staff

Required profile

• Australian working rights; visa sponsorship is not available
• Flexibility to work varied shifts Monday to Sunday as required
• Relevant trade qualification
• Ability to work as part of a small team and to prioritise and plan tasks
• Commitment to hygiene, safety standards and food handling regulations
