Outside School Hours Care 2IC (Part-Time)

About the role

Lifely is recruiting a part-time Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) 2IC for its high-intensity OSHC program serving children with disabilities at Sunbury and Macedon Ranges Specialist School. The role supports the OSHC Coordinator and involves supervising and caring for school-age children with disabilities, Monday to Friday, 2pm to 6pm, plus school holiday care 9am to 5pm. It suits Early Childhood Education Leaders, Assistant Directors or Room Leaders seeking a career step.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing the OSHC program and support the Site Coordinator, adhering to its policies and directives
• Supervise, engage and provide care for children with disabilities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing
• Plan and run varied activities such as reading, crafts, sports and games
• Lead the development of a weekly activity program, including excursions and incursions for holiday care
• Mentor and teach educators through observation and guided discussion, and lead reflective discussions on practice
• Coordinate learning activities, plan in-service training and liaise with community agencies
• Keep records, maintain the centre's policies and procedures, and supervise team members
• Clean the room and centre, lift children and equipment, and drive the centre bus as required

Required profile

• Completed or working towards a recognised minimum qualification under the National Quality Framework
• Experience in child services, education or disability with leadership aspirations
• Strong ethics, child safety awareness and work health and safety knowledge
• Available Monday to Friday, 2pm to 6pm
• Must hold a Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid and CPR certificates, NDIS Orientation Certificate, Mandatory Reporting Certificate, current vaccination certificate and proof of right to work in Australia
