OT Solution Architect

About the role

The OT Solution Architect will lead the design and governance of end‑to‑end operational technology solutions in complex enterprise or industrial environments, primarily within the mining and heavy‑industry sector. This role requires deep technical expertise and the ability to translate business needs into robust, secure OT architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Design and govern complete OT solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
• Produce high‑quality architecture deliverables such as high‑level designs, conceptual and logical models, integration and data‑flow views, and risk assessments.
• Assess solutions against cybersecurity, resilience, availability, performance, supportability, maintainability and business continuity requirements.
• Facilitate stakeholder communication, explaining complex technical matters to operational, engineering, delivery and executive audiences.
• Work across Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery methods, managing ambiguity and meeting contractual milestones with limited supervision.

Required profile

• Demonstrated solution architecture experience in complex enterprise or industrial settings, especially in mining, resources or comparable heavy‑industry environments.
• TOGAF certification and practical knowledge of enterprise and solution architecture methods.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with architecture principles, domains, viewpoints, patterns, reference architectures, current‑state and target‑state modelling, transition roadmaps and architecture decision records.

Required skills

• Strong OT architecture expertise covering mining systems, control systems, SCADA, industrial networks, wireless and fixed connectivity, edge infrastructure, IT/OT integration and operational data flows.
• OT cybersecurity knowledge.
• Proficiency in ArchiMate modelling (certification is a bonus).
• Ability to produce architecture documentation such as high‑level designs, options assessments and governance submissions.
