OSHC Lead and Assistant Educator

About the role

Windermere is seeking casual Assistant and Lead Educators for its Out of Hours Care (OSHC) program serving school-age children in the southeast. The team delivers play-based, inclusive programs at four locations (Koo Wee Rup, Drouin South, Lang Lang and Bayles), with opening hours of 6:15am-8:45am and 2:55pm-6:30pm (3:15pm-6:30pm at Drouin South and Bayles). A school holiday program is also offered at Koo Wee Rup and Drouin South during Victorian public-school holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver innovative, play-based learning activities
• Lead Educators: assist in planning activities
• Build professional working relationships with families and school leaders
• Maintain the health, safety and wellbeing of children

Required profile

• Diploma/Certificate III in Early Childhood Education, or enrolled and working towards it (Assistant Educator)
• Lead Educator minimum: ACECQA-approved Diploma or Certificate III qualification, or working towards it
• Currently completing a Bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood Education or Physical Education
• Valid Victorian Working with Children's Check and HLTAID004 First Aid certificate
• Current Victorian driver's licence free from conditions; right to work in Australia

Required skills

• Demonstrated ability to work within the National Quality Framework
• Understanding of the needs and development of school-age children
• Ability to develop positive relationships with children and families
• Inclusive, culturally responsive practice
• Food Safety Handling certificate and Level 2 First Aid (including CPR and asthma/anaphylaxis management) are an advantage
