Operator – Heavy Industry (Boyne Smelters)

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team at Boyne Smelters as Operators. No prior experience is required – you will receive full training to support the safe and sustainable production of aluminium.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mobile and fixed plant equipment, including cranes, forklifts and specialised metal‑transport devices.
• Perform process operations such as cell dressing, beam raising, ore hopper filling, tapping, and metal transfer.
• Control plant processes via control panels, operate scabble guns, and manage equipment isolation and de‑isolation.
• Handle furnace preparation, casting pit activities, ingot machine operation and product inspection.
• Carry out metal transportation, cutting, M‑strap fabrication and dross handling.

Required profile

• Current valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage workload autonomously.
• Willingness to work in a labour‑intensive environment, including confined spaces, heights and hot conditions.
• Readiness to work a 12‑hour roster covering days and nights.
