Operations Intelligence Analyst

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Operations Intelligence Analyst to transform operational data into trusted insight and practical action across our national network. You will work closely with operational leaders, evaluate reporting and data quality, and drive continuous improvement in a fast‑moving waste‑management environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop end‑to‑end operational reporting and analytical solutions, including data modelling, preparation, insight generation and performance reporting.
• Reconcile data across multiple systems, identify discrepancies, determine root causes and implement corrective actions to improve data quality at source.
• Translate complex analysis into clear, concise, actionable recommendations for operational leaders and frontline teams.
• Provide analysis for route planning, fleet utilisation, payload management, driver rostering, overtime, bin fleet management and weighbridge data flows.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities, support operational observations and process mapping, and help deliver measurable business outcomes.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics, Finance or a related discipline.
• Proven experience building reporting and analytical solutions end to end in an asset‑intensive or route‑based environment such as waste management, transport, logistics or heavy industry.
• Strong analytical mindset with commercial awareness and the ability to challenge existing practices.

Required skills

• Advanced Power BI (semantic modelling, DAX, Power Query, star‑schema design, incremental refresh, row‑level security, performance optimisation).
• Strong SQL skills (joins, window functions, aggregations, data anomaly investigation).
• Advanced Excel (Power Query, handling complex operational datasets).
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, Power Apps, Power Automate.
• Familiarity with industry platforms such as WastEdge, AMCS Platform, Mandalay, ClearWeigh.
