Operations Director – Energy & Oil & Gas (Brisbane)

About the role

The Operations Director will lead and optimise operational performance and project delivery for a leading international oil and gas EPC operating in Australia. Reporting to the executive team, you will shape strategy, drive efficiency and ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective delivery of large‑scale energy assets.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic Planning – collaborate with executives to define operational strategy, monitor market trends and reduce costs.
• Project Management – oversee multiple EPC/EPCM projects, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met.
• Operational Efficiency – evaluate processes, implement KPIs and leverage automation to boost productivity.
• Resource Allocation – allocate personnel and equipment effectively, partnering with HR to build high‑performing teams.
• Compliance & Risk Management – ensure adherence to regulations, safety standards and manage risks through controls and audits.
• Stakeholder Management – nurture relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors and support business development.
• Office HSSE – implement health, safety, security and environment controls, training and inspections.

Required profile

• Senior leadership experience in the energy or resources sector.
• Proven track record delivering Greenfield and Brownfield EPC/EPCM projects.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence executive decision‑making.
• Excellent stakeholder and team management capabilities.
