Operational Technology Specialist

About the role

Rio Tinto is looking for an Operational Technology Specialist in its Brisbane office, part of the Business Services team. The role provides Level 2 and Level 3 technical support and ongoing improvement of key mining production systems, working with fleet management and mining technology platforms such as Wenco Fleet Management System, CAT Terrain and Wenco Readyline. It suits someone with strong mining systems experience who combines hands-on technical problem solving with stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for mining systems, including Wenco Fleet Management System, CAT Terrain and Wenco Readyline
• Identify, initiate and deliver system improvements and upgrades through lifecycle management
• Define and develop business and functional requirements with stakeholders, and turn operational requirements into technical solutions
• Support the health, maintenance and performance of production systems
• Work with technology vendors to resolve issues and find improvement opportunities
• Support service management processes, optimise technology use and maintain internal technical documentation and knowledge resources

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems or a related discipline
• Experience with fleet management or mining production systems
• Understanding of mining practices and plant or operational environments
• Analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills, with strong written and verbal communication

Required skills

• Proficiency with Wenco Fleet Management System, CAT Terrain and/or Wenco Readyline
• Windows operating systems and Windows Server
• Microsoft SQL Server and SSRS
• Nice to have: MES or OT platform experience, historians, Power BI, enterprise platforms and integration patterns, and cyber security awareness
