Nursing Teacher – Part-Time (0.5 FTE)

About the role

TAFE Queensland is seeking a qualified Nursing Teacher to join its Southport campus on a permanent part‑time (0.5 FTE) basis. The role offers the chance to move away from shift work and shape the next generation of healthcare professionals while enjoying flexible hours and work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, student‑centred nursing education across classroom, simulated, workplace and online settings.
• Apply evidence‑based teaching practices to support student success and job‑ready outcomes.
• Utilise flexible and blended learning approaches to meet the needs of diverse learner cohorts.
• Design and assess learning activities aligned with industry standards and training packages.
• Build strong relationships with students, colleagues and industry partners.
• Contribute to program development, continuous improvement and team collaboration.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent vocational competency at the level being delivered).
• Recognised Training and Assessment qualification (e.g., TAE40122, TAE40116, TAE40110, TAE50116, TAE50216 or approved equivalent).
• Current industry skills relevant to nursing education and assessment.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in vocational education and training.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and care planning.
• Simulation‑based teaching techniques.
• Online learning platform delivery.
