Nurse Educator

About the role

The Nurse Educator is a Registered Nurse who leads the design, delivery and evaluation of nursing education programmes within the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. Working at an advanced practice level, you will support a culture of continuous learning and provide expert clinical guidance to multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and assess nursing education curricula and resources.
• Manage educational assets and ensure alignment with NMBA standards.
• Provide complex nursing care in accordance with professional practice standards.
• Act as a clinical mentor, role model and technical expert for staff.
• Promote enquiry, professional development and organisational learning.

Required profile

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the NMBA via AHPRA.
• Post‑graduate qualification at AQF level 9 with a major focus on clinical education, or a research higher degree (or commitment to complete within an agreed timeframe).
• Demonstrated ability to apply contemporary nursing practice and theory to professional issues, including the Scope of Clinical Practice and Supported Practice Framework.
