Night Shift Team Leader (Baking Production)

About the role

Goodman Fielder is looking for a Production Team Leader to lead a dedicated team of baking production staff at its Quality Bakers site in East Tamaki, Auckland. The role supports the Production Manager in keeping the shift team aligned on performance targets such as KPIs, DIFOT, waste percentage, line utilisation and productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor and develop direct reports so they can make timely production decisions.
• Ensure high-quality finished product through compliance with all Food Safety Systems, and escalate and resolve issues promptly.
• Oversee plant hygiene, ensuring cleaning happens at the right times and to the right standard.
• Manage the shift team through toolbox meetings (shift handover, daily direction setting, TALK meetings).
• Elevate issues relating to safety, health and quality.

Required profile

• Experience in food manufacturing at team lead or supervisory level.
• Knowledge of machine operation and/or engineering management.
• Exposure to quality assurance and food safety systems.
• A strong attitude towards health and safety, ability to drive performance and effective communication skills.

Required skills

• SAP and SHE systems experience (desirable)
