Night Shift Site Supervisor - Civil Utilities

About the role

McMahon Services is delivering major civil utilities works as part of a significant South Australian infrastructure project and is seeking an experienced Night Shift Supervisor for its Civil & Infrastructure team. Reporting to the Site Manager and Project Managers, you will supervise the night shift delivery of water, sewer, stormwater and associated underground services, coordinating crews, subcontractors and plant while keeping safety, environmental and quality standards high.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise civil utilities works throughout the night shift
• Coordinate crews, subcontractors, plant and site activities against short-term programmes and milestones
• Lead pre-starts, toolbox talks, safety inspections and risk controls
• Manage works around live services, public interfaces and existing infrastructure
• Maintain site diaries, records and detailed shift handovers, and escalate delays, variations, EOTs and risks early
• Work closely with the day shift and project leadership to keep works progressing safely

Required profile

• Trade qualification with relevant civil construction or utilities experience
• Minimum 3-5 years supervising civil utilities or infrastructure works
• Demonstrated experience leading crews and subcontractors
• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, sequencing and site coordination
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Current driver's licence and ability to obtain project and site clearances
• Commitment to working night shifts

Required skills

• Strong experience across water, sewer, drainage and/or underground services
• Strong WHS understanding, especially around live services and complex construction environments
• Leadership, communication and problem-solving ability
• Commercial awareness and risk identification
