Network & Security Analyst

About the role

An established team in Brisbane CBD is recruiting a Network & Security Analyst. It suits someone with an IT Support, Desktop Support or junior networking background who wants to build technical skills and grow a career in network and security operations. You do not need to be an experienced Network Engineer or Security Analyst; a solid networking foundation, problem-solving ability and willingness to learn are enough.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to network and security support tickets, investigate issues and work through resolutions.
• Support day-to-day network operations, including firewall, proxy and connectivity requests.
• Learn to configure and maintain network security devices and services.
• Assist with network changes, new deployments and implementation activities.
• Work with senior engineers to troubleshoot and escalate complex technical issues.
• Create and update knowledge articles and procedures as you learn.
• Communicate with internal customers, keep them informed and follow issues through to resolution.
• Gain exposure to networking and security technologies across a large, multi-site environment.

Required profile

• Experience in an IT support or similar technical environment.
• Interest in network security, firewalls, VPNs and how networks operate.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• A curious, proactive approach and willingness to learn.
• Ability to investigate problems, ask questions and follow through.
• Attention to detail and willingness to document processes and solutions.
• Networking studies or certifications such as CCNA or Network+ are a bonus but not essential.

Required skills

• Networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.
• No prior hands-on experience with firewalls or security technologies is required.
