Network Engineer

About the role

Nyrstar, a global multi-metals business with mining, smelting and other operations in Europe, the Americas and Australia, is looking for an experienced and dynamic IT Network Engineer in Hobart. The role supports, maintains and improves the IT infrastructure, data networks and associated services, and takes part in infrastructure projects. It suits someone who enjoys a hands-on environment and new technical challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Support networks and related infrastructure.
• Monitor ServiceNow to manage incidents, requests and changes according to SLAs.
• Deploy and maintain new or replacement IT infrastructure.
• Support the Business Systems Team on small to medium regional and group projects.
• Implement and maintain data communication services, components and infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and fix technical issues within agreed timeframes.
• Act as the interface with suppliers, carriers and vendors on technical issues.
• Analyse network traffic data and recommend performance improvements.
• Take part in daily regional IT/OT/Support meetings, pipeline projects and site future Business System plans.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification and at least 3 years' experience in networking, cyber security support or project delivery.
• Experience setting up and managing virtual services.
• Cisco networking qualifications and experience.
• Knowledge of Cyber Security best practices in an industrial and global context.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, including server operating systems.
• HP Technician Certification.
• ITIL Certification.
