About the role
The Australian Government is appointing senior leaders to serve as the National Anti‑Corruption Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners of the National Anti‑Corruption Commission (NACC). These full‑time, fixed‑term positions provide strategic direction and oversight of the agency’s mandate to investigate and prevent serious or systemic corruption across the Commonwealth public sector.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the NACC’s investigative and preventive operations.
- Apply and manage the Commission’s coercive powers to address corruption cases.
- Develop and maintain relationships with government bodies, integrity agencies, and key stakeholders.
- Promote public confidence in the integrity of the Commonwealth public sector.
- Oversee the implementation of anti‑corruption policies and standards.
- Travel between NACC offices in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth as required.
Required profile
- Outstanding leadership record with demonstrated commitment to integrity.
- Eligibility as a retired judge of a federal, state or territory court, or a legal practitioner with at least five years of enrolment.
- Extensive experience in senior legal, judicial or public‑sector roles.
- Ability to manage complex investigations and high‑profile stakeholder relationships.
- Willingness to serve a term of up to five years on a full‑time basis.
