Narrative Game Designer & Scriptwriter

About the role

Gameloft Brisbane seeks a versatile Narrative Game Designer and Scriptwriter to shape the story and dialogue of an upcoming IP‑driven project. You will act as the voice of the IP, ensuring narrative consistency while bridging creative vision with brand stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Deeply immerse in the existing IP, maintaining character‑accurate dialogue and lore.
• Write high‑quality dialogue, cinematic scripts, and ambient "world barks".
• Collaborate with Game and Quest Designers to translate narrative beats into playable moments.
• Design branching dialogue paths, story arcs, and narrative structures that react to player choices.
• Implement narrative content directly in Unreal Engine and related tools.
• Create lore entries, item descriptions, and environmental clues.
• Work with Audio leads and Voice Actors to achieve intended emotional performances.
• Iterate quickly based on playtest feedback and IP stakeholder input.

Required profile

• 4+ years of narrative design experience in games.
• Proven portfolio demonstrating in‑character writing for established IPs.
• Experience stewarding existing intellectual properties and collaborating with external brand owners.
• Strong understanding of cinematic vs. gameplay dialogue writing.
• Resilient, collaborative attitude toward creative criticism.
• Passion for storytelling across games, literature, and cinema.
