Nanny - Petersham, NSW

About the role

A warm and busy family in Petersham is seeking a caring, energetic and engaging nanny to join its household team for at least 12 months, starting mid-January 2027. The nanny works with both parents, supports the morning school routine, takes primary responsibility for the younger child's care during the day and looks after both children after school. Pay is $40 per hour depending on experience, reflecting the regular four-day arrangement and primary care of one child; a higher rate applies when both children need care, including after school and school holidays.

Key responsibilities

• Care for the 20-month-old toddler, including meals, naps and daily routine
• Support the older child's morning routine and get her to school
• Collect the older child from school around 3:00pm and look after both children until 4:00pm
• Plan outdoor, creative, sensory and age-appropriate activities and outings
• Support both children's development through play, learning and exploration
• Keep the children safe at all times
• Prepare simple meals and provide light child-related household support when time allows
• Keep open communication with the parents about the children's wellbeing, routines and any changes

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience caring for babies, toddlers and young children
• Experience with both toddlers and school-aged children is highly beneficial
• Current NSW Working With Children Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Excellent references
• Non-smoker
• Warm, kind, patient, creative and proactive, with a calm, fair and consistent approach

Required skills

• Childcare qualification is not essential but highly regarded
• Reliable, punctual and trustworthy, able to work as part of a busy household team

What we offer

• Guaranteed 30 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 4:00pm
