Music Lover Volunteer Mate

About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for a friendly volunteer to spend one-on-one time with a gentleman living with Alzheimer's who enjoys good company, music and going out. The aim is regular visits that improve quality of life and reduce isolation.

Key responsibilities

• Visit the person once a week for one hour, between Monday and Friday, either before lunch (10am-12pm) or after 1pm (1-4pm).
• Chat about interests such as cars, football, or old-school music, and play music together.
• Go out for a coffee or a walk, keeping visits relaxed and enjoyable.

Required profile

• Enjoys music and conversation; bonus points for liking a Sinatra classic, Tom Jones or a sing-along.
• 18 years or older.
• Able to commit to one hour per week.

Required skills

• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and NDIS Worker Screening Check paid for by HammondCare.
