Motor Fraud Team Leader

About the role

Lead a high‑performing investigative team within the Fraud & Intelligence function, overseeing complex motor fraud investigations and driving operational excellence across Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage investigative cases, ensuring thorough, accurate and timely investigations while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Implement quality assurance processes, optimise resource allocation, manage budgets and safeguard confidential data.
• Coach, develop and motivate a team of investigators, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and wellbeing.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (risk, underwriting, customer teams) and external partners (legal, regulators, law enforcement).
• Identify capability gaps, drive learning initiatives and support organisational change programmes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in insurance or financial services investigations.
• Proven track record of leading and developing investigative teams in fast‑paced environments.
• Strong analytical, decision‑making and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Tertiary qualification in Insurance, Law or related discipline (preferred).

Required skills

• Extensive experience in insurance fraud investigations and case management.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.
• Ability to implement quality assurance and risk‑mitigation strategies.
