Mobile Application Developer – 12‑month contract in Canberra

About the role

Our client is seeking a Mobile Application Developer for a 12‑month contract in Canberra. The role sits within an Agile team delivering large‑scale digital programmes that improve customer experiences for a government department.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in requirements analysis and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design software architecture and produce detailed designs.
• Write clean, maintainable and scalable code following departmental standards.
• Test, deploy and monitor mobile applications in production environments.
• Improve and maintain existing software components.
• Produce documentation throughout the software development life‑cycle.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience developing mobile applications.
• Baseline security clearance and Australian citizenship.
• Proven experience on high‑volume transactional or complex integrated systems.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills in a challenging IT environment.

Required skills

• Native iOS development using Swift/SwiftUI.
• Native Android development using Kotlin/Jetpack Compose.
• Cross‑platform Android/iOS development.
• Microsoft Web API / REST architecture.
• SQL and Entity Framework.
• .Net framework.
