Mid Full-Stack Engineer - South Bank, QLD

About the role

Flight Centre Travel Group is hiring a Mid Full-Stack Engineer in South Bank, Queensland, to join its Brand Search and Discover team. You will take ownership of front-end and back-end work across several streams, designing, building, testing and releasing features end to end. The team maintains and updates the AU, NZ, UK, ZA and CA websites, CMS and top-of-funnel customer conversions, working with business and marketing stakeholders to lift customer conversion.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy web applications, microservices and APIs mainly with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Next.js and AWS infrastructure.
• Maintain and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines.
• Write high-quality, secure, testable and maintainable code.
• Ensure quality through testing, test automation and observability.
• Analyse business requirements and solve problems for customers.
• Take part in code reviews and keep documentation up to date.
• Collaborate in cross-functional Digital Commerce teams in an agile environment.

Required profile

• 2 to 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Full-stack experience delivering end-to-end front-end and back-end work.
• Proven experience building responsive web apps for desktop and mobile.
• Experience with software testing, including unit and UI tests.
• Experience with application monitoring and observability.
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

Required skills

• Modern JavaScript, with proficiency in TypeScript, Styled Components, HTML and JS.
• Next.js and Node.js for high-traffic, performant software.
• Testing tools such as Cypress and Playwright.
• Observability tools such as Splunk and New Relic.
