Microsoft Entra Identity Consultant

About the role

As a Microsoft Entra Identity Consultant you will join Avanade’s security practice, delivering identity and access management solutions for Accenture and Avanade clients. You will work on client‑facing projects that modernise access control using Microsoft Entra ID and other leading IAM platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design enterprise IAM solutions with Entra ID, focusing on security, efficiency and zero‑trust principles.
• Develop identity architecture roadmaps, target‑state designs and high‑level/low‑level documentation.
• Create and enforce control policies, conditional access and multi‑factor authentication frameworks.
• Lead client workshops, translate business and compliance requirements into technical designs.
• Deploy advanced authentication solutions using OAuth2.0, SAML and OIDC protocols.

Required profile

• Proven experience in IAM, especially Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and Active Directory.
• Consulting background with client advisory and solution delivery experience.
• Understanding of privacy, security and compliance challenges around digital identities.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for security clearance (existing clearance preferred).

Required skills

• Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD, Entra ID Sync, Entra ID Domain Services.
• Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, NTLM, GPOs, OU structure.
• OAuth2.0, SAML, OIDC, Entra External ID, SCIM.
• PowerShell, Azure automation tools, Python (nice to have).
• Experience with additional IAM platforms such as Auth0, Ping Identity or ForgeRock.
