Microsoft Azure Security Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Security specialist to help enterprise clients design, implement and optimise secure environments on Microsoft Azure. The role involves client‑facing consulting, stakeholder management and delivery of security transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct security assessments, maturity reviews and gap analyses, and develop roadmaps and remediation plans.
• Design secure Azure landing zones and enterprise platforms aligned with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Well‑Architected Framework.
• Implement and optimise Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview, Key Vault, Azure Policy and related security controls.
• Design and implement Zero Trust identity strategies, Conditional Access and Privileged Identity Management.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Bicep, Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, and automate compliance.
• Align cloud environments with ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, SOC 2 and other regulatory frameworks, and support audit readiness.

Required profile

• 5+ years of cloud security or cybersecurity consulting experience, with at least 3 years of hands‑on Microsoft Azure security work.
• Australian citizenship is mandatory.
• Strong client‑facing and stakeholder management skills, with ability to present to technical and executive audiences.
