About the role
Join a multidisciplinary team at the Darwin Immigration Detention Centre as a Mental Health Registered Nurse. You will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for detainees.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct mental state and risk assessments, crisis interventions and clinical formulation.
- Deliver evidence‑based mental health interventions, therapeutic support and psycho‑education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, treatment and access to health services.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to risk management, quality improvement and compliance.
Required profile
- Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
- Postgraduate Mental Health qualification (AQF Level 8+) with 5 years specialist experience, or 7 years specialist mental health nursing experience without a postgraduate qualification.
- Experience in mental health assessment, crisis intervention and therapeutic care.
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication and computer skills.
