About the role

Healthcare Australia is seeking a Clinical Team Leader to guide a multidisciplinary team delivering mental health and addiction care to individuals in immigration detention. You will combine clinical expertise with leadership, providing direct patient care, mentoring staff, and shaping program development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality mental health services to detainees, respecting dignity, culture, values and rights.
• Provide line management for the mental health primary health care team and support the Health Service Manager in daily operations.
• Identify service delivery issues, drive change initiatives and implement sustainable, person‑centred solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic planning.

Required profile

• Exceptional communication and leadership skills that inspire trust and team engagement.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, positive and engaged team culture.
• Solid understanding of healthcare regulations, standards of care, clinical governance and quality improvement methodologies.
• Bachelor of Nursing degree, minimum five years post‑graduate clinical experience, and a postgraduate qualification in mental health (AQF recognised).
